Birth Place is based on analysis of various records (Hugh seems closely associated with Edward Gambriel and Ann Gambrill of Hamilton County Ohio, and fits the pattern of Descendents for Ann Gambrill of Wood County VA in 1810. Ann Gambrill of Wood County Virginia is likely the same Ann Gambrell of Prince William County Virginia in 1806. It appears that she is the widow of William Gambrill, who was listed in Prince William County in 1795. Therefore it is my best guess that Hugh was born in PW county)

Hugh bought 108 acres of land east of Mt Pleasant (now called Mt Healthy) Ohio in 1834. He is still listed on the land plat map of 1848.

In 1849 Hugh and Sarah are listed as Members of the Dunlapsville Presbyterian Church, in Union County Indiana

about 1853 he moved his family to Hancock County Indiana
