Milam Co, Texas obituary - Hugh F. Caffey, Sr., age 79 of Salty Community died 4/1974 (Sunday) in Johns Hospital, Taylor where he had been a patient. Services held Tuesday in Salty Community Church with burial in Salty cemetery. Rev. Clyde Majors officiated. Born 2/12/1895 in Milam County the son of M/M Charles M. Caffey, he first married Ethel Jackson. One son was born. Ethel preceded him in death 1/8/1948. He then married Hattie Tucker. He was a veteran of WW-1 and a life-long member of the Methodist Church. 3 brothers and 2 sisters preceded him in death. Survivors: Wife, Mrs. Hattie Caffey of Salty Community; son, Hugh Caffey, Jr. of Thorndale; 3 brothers, C. N. Caffey of Thorndale, Dow Caffey of Salty and Enoch Caffey of Gay Hill Community near Rockdale; 2 sisters, Mrs. Eula Tucker of Rockdale and Mrs. Myrtle Fletcher of Garland; grandchildren, Connie Sue Caffey and Dale Caffey, both of Thorndale.
