Howard Ray, 83, retired foreman at Grinnell Corp.
The funeral for Howard E. Ray, 83, 2112 Estabrook Ave. N.W., who died Monday, will be Friday at Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, where friends may call an hour before the service. Burial will be in Champion Township Cemetery.
Mr. Ray was born June 10, 1904, in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of John H. and Gertrude Shipley Ray.
A resident here 57 years, he was a member of Second Christian Church and Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 225.
He had served in the Army during World War I, and was a welding foreman at Grinnell Corp. when he retired in 1973.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine Shafer Ray, whom he married Sept. 14, 1957; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Shirlee) Fritz of Champion; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Bradshaw of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; two grandsons; and a great-grandson. A brother, Norman, preceded him in death.
