Horace Williams, one of our oldest and most highly esteemed citizens, passed away Friday afternoon, March 23d, at his home near this village. He was bom in the town of Denmark, June 26, 1826, and spent most of his life here. In 1863 he enlisted in the New York, 20th Cavalry, where he served two years. He was first married to Susan Austin and seven children were bom to them, two of whom are living, Charles, of Champion, and Mrs. Josephine Patchin, of Great Bend. In 1894 he was married to Margaret Tarrey, who also survives. The funeral was held from the Baptist church Monday afterreoon, Rev. CL N. Gates officiating; interment at Castorland. Those from out of town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Williams and Mrs. George Williams, of Natural Bridge; Mr. and Mrs. William Patchin, of Great Bend.
