    Hilary F. Tandeski, 73, Mekinock, ND died Monday, September 1, 2008 at home.

    Hilary Francis Tandeski was born September 20, 1934 in Grafton, ND, the son of Max and Staffie (Ebertowski) Tandeski. He was raised and educated near Grafton, Minto and Warsaw, ND area as well as Donaldson, MN. As a young man, Hilary worked for Armor and for the ND State Mill and Elevator.

    Hilary married Shirley Gudmundson in 1952 in Grand Forks, ND. He moved to Buena Park, CA to work for the John Mansville Co. He returned to Grand Forks and worked for local contractors. Hilary and his brother Harry worked together for many years owning and operating H&H Cement. Hilary later worked for various contractors in the Grand Forks Area.

    Hilary enjoyed playing cards and BINGO. He also liked to fish and tinker with tractors and machinery.

    Survivors include, his daughters, Pamela Massie Graziano, Corona, CA, Deborah Dion, Riverside, CA, Barbara “Bobby” (Steve) Bennett, Crestline, CA, Sandra “Sandi” (Mark) Johnson, St. Louis, MO, Shelly Tandeski, St. John, ND; son, Glen Tandeski, St. John, ND; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Maxine Skoczylas, Long Beach, CA, Audrey (Rolland) Beaudry, Lakewood, CA and Mary Ann (Tim) O’Keefe, Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Raphael Tandeski, Grand Forks, Leonard Tandeski, Mekinock, ND and Jerome “Polar” Tandeski, Grand Forks.

    Hilary was preceded in death by his parents; son, Scott; sister, Adeline and a brother, Harry.

    Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2008 in Amundson Funeral Home 2975 S. 42nd St. in Grand Forks, ND.

    Visitation will be for the hour before the service in the funeral home.

    Burial will be in Memorial Park South Cemetery of Grand Forks.

    Arrangements are with Amundson Funeral Home of Grand Forks, ND.
