HESTER DRAKE, daughter of Job and Mary (Wolcott) Drake, and granddaughter of Hon. Henry Wolcott, b. Oct 10, 1662, d. Feb. 19, 1691/2. The Drakes were in Windsor early in 1639. John, founder of the family, was granted land in 1640 and became well considered. The will of Job Drake 1689 mentions his daughter Esther. In 1664, Job, having become involved in a church difficulty in Windsor, was imprisoned through the illegal action of the church members which was permitted by Mr. Warham. Hester Drake is the daughter of Mary Wolcott, who is the sister of Simon Wolcott, whose son Roger is a governor of Connecticut, whose son Oliver is a signer of the US Consitution. References
