Facts and Events
Hershell Nix Data from headstone at Mortons Chapel, see poto. This stone appears to have been placed years ago, maybe by Miles H. and Etta before their death. Stones for the remaining family members, Miles Hershel Nix, Mary Etta Blackerby and Bertha Lou Nix all appear to have been placed at the same time and recently, maybe 1990's. Possibility that Hershell could have been a WWI death, but his stone makes no reference to military service. Cited in the "Etowah County Alabama Cemeteries" dated 5/12/1998. Listed as NIX, Hershell. b 10-2-1901; d 10-4-1913, and shown buried at index # 27, which is Morton's Chapel. Should check to determine which family group he is buried with. Information taken forom the head stone at Mortons shows a DoD as 4 oct 1919. assume that the Cemeteries listing is in error becace it cave DoD as 4 Oct 1913
