Facts and Events
Herman died at very young age in the Japanese concentration camp Kampili, South Celebes, Dutch Indies (now Indonesia). He was buried by his brother Willem, who was then almost 14 years old, because his mother Alberdina Seinen was not able to do this or to assist. The father, Hendrik van der Pol, wasn't there either. He was taken prison in a Japanese men's concentration camp called Pare Pare on South Celebes (now called Sulawesi Selatan) References
