Herman F. Siefert, 87, of Greensburg, died Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. He was born June 1, 1929, in Claridge, a son of the late Frederick H. and Mary Ann (Griff) Siefert. He was a member of Zion's Lutheran Church, Greensburg. Herman was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the Army. Prior to his retirement in 1991, he was a machinist at Elliott Company, Jeannette. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis E. (Loughner) Siefert; two infant siblings; and daughter-in-law, Kim Siefert. He is survived by three sons, Craig D. Siefert and his wife, Betsy, of Dayton, Ohio, Philip F. Siefert, of Detroit, Mich., and Jay H. Siefert and his wife, Cathleen, of Greensburg; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, William Siefert, of Florida; and sister, Claudia Hindman, of Jeannette.
There will be no public visitation. A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Westmoreland County Memorial Park Mausoleum, Greensburg.
