Herman E. Anderson was born in Rushford and married Agnes Halvorson on May 15, 1904. In 1889, he moved to Tacoma, Washington and died at Palm Springs, California, having prospered in the insurance business in Washington." obit in Pacific Lutheran College 1944 Ex. Board Member, Herman E Anderson, 82, prominent Tacoma Lutheran layman and long-time friend of Pacific Lutheran College, passed away suddenly Wednesday March 9 [1944] at Palm Springs, CA, where he and Mrs. Anderson were spending the winter. Mr. Anderson was a member of the college board of trustees from 1923 to 1934 and was the college treasurer from 1925 to 1934. He was a member of the building committee for the college president's residence and an adviser to the committee which supervised the construction of the new college library. Mr. Anderson was also active in connection with the endowment fund and a member of the Endowment Investment Committee and the Endowment Management Committee. His two sons are graduates of the college. |
