Herbert B. Weissman, age 92, beloved husband of Gloria Gray Weissman and the late Elaine (nee Goodman); loving father of Nancy Weissman-White (Craig White), Linda Bradley (Roderick); cherished Papa of Rachael White, Joel Bradley (Natalie), Erika White (Alex Grab), and Sarah Dundas (Mike). Fond step father to Larry Gray (Ruth), Steven Gray (Debbie), Karen Gray-Keeler(Thomas Keeler), Jeffrey Gray (Kendra Gallagher), and Wendy Raven (Marc) and will be missed by all of their children and grandchildren. Herbert practiced as an optometrist for over 50 years in Gary and Merrillville until retiring at the age of 80. He served in theArmy Air Corp in World War II, and was proud to participate in Honor Flight Chicago. Herbert was active and served on various boards and held numerous officer positions for Temple Israel in Gary, and Jewish Federation of Northwest Indiana. He will be missed by many, especially his fellow golfers and ROMEO group. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 15, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at BURNS KISH FUNERAL HOME, 8415 Calumet Ave., Munster. In lieu of flowers, donations in his loving memory can be made to: Honor Flight-Chicago, Federation of Northwest Indiana, and Temple Israel-Gary.
