    Herbert A. Saunders, son of Herbert and Hattie (Babcock) Saunders was born June 21, 1903 in Gentry, Ark. and died on October 4, 1982.
    After graduating from high school in Welton, Iowa in 1923, he moved to Milton, Wis. and attended Milton College for 1 year. He was a member of the Yates-American 100 piece saxophone band. He farmed for many years with his brother Charles and then married Betty Babcock on March 30, 1945. He worked at Highway Trailer Corp. in Edgerton, Wis. until he retired in 1971.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers; Ora, Ernest, Perry and William. Survivors include wife, Betty; two daughters, Wyn of Venice, Calif., and Judy of Madison, Wis.; four sons, Herbert of Sparta, Wis., Dale of Edgerton, Wis., Keith of Madison, Wis., and David of Edgerton, Wis.; six grandchildren and one brother, Charles of Edgerton, Wis.
    Funeral services were conducted on October 7, 1982 by Pastor Robert Harris of the Albion Seventh Day Baptist Church. RH
