U.S. VeteranHerbert G. Saber, 79, of Fall River, died Saturday at Charlton Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. Husband of Agnes (Kishko) Saber. Born in Fall River, son of the late George F. and Genevieve (Kaliff) Saber. A World War II Veteran of the U.S. Army, he owned and operated various businesses in his lifetime, the first being a cobbler shop on Pleasant St. Over the next few decades, he also ran Arlan’s Snack Bar, JT Allen Lumber Co., Edgar’s Restaurant and the Fall River Factory Outlet Cafeteria. The majority of his retirement years were spent in Florida. He will be remembered for his infectious smile, positive outlook and generosity. Besides his wife Agnes, survivors include sons, George Saber and David Saber, and his wife Pamela, brother, Philip Saber, grandsons Zachary, Aaron and Evan Saber, and several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Nancy Stimer and Edward G. Saber. Funeral was held Wednesday, October 3rd, in the Calvary United Presbyterian Church. Pallbearers were Jonathan Saber, Philip Saber, Steven Sahady, Zachary Saber, Douglas Kooz and James Kooz. Interment Oak Grove Cemetery.
