    "2. Mrs. Hepzibah Buell Wells, of Windsor, Conn., and Deerfield, Mass., fifth child of William Buell, of Windsor, Conn., was born at Windsor, Conn., 11th December, 1649. She removed to Hadley, Mass., in 1673, and to Deerfield, Mass., in 1684, where she died in March, 1704. In June, 1693, she, with her three daughters, were knocked in the head and scalped by the Indians, at Deerfield, but the mother and one daughter recovered from their injuries. (After her husband's death, she married Daniel Billings [Belden], 17th February, 1699.) She was married at Windsor, Conn., 12th January, 1673, to Thomas Wells, of Windsor, Conn., Hatfield and Deerfield, Mass., son of Thomas Welles, of Hartford, Conn."
