per Stryker, was a private and Seargent. was in Spencer's Regiment of the Continental Army. wounded at Springfield , discharged with wounds 3 Jan 1783. Served under Capt, Jonathan Holmes Co. 2nd REg.

per Greves: Born: 19 DEC 1755 at: Died: 1 JAN 1842. I have also found 1808 as a death date.

Henry Williams lived in the old house at the corner of Raritan Road and the road coming down from Garwood. Married 1st Lydia Yeomans; married 2nd Elizabeth Scudder. [Greaves also gives death date as 1840]

Henry Williams was a minute man in the Essex county, N. J. militia. He was taken prisoner by the British, confined in the "Sugar House" in New York, where his sufferings unfitted him for further duty. He was born and died in Westfield, N. J.
