Powell, Henry, of Raleigh Parish. Will dated Oct. 8, 1763, Probate Nov. 22, 1764.
Wit. Richard Pringle, John (x) Compton, Sr., Joseph hubbard, Judith (X) Hubbard.
Ex. wife Obedience Powell, Mr. John Scott.
Sec. Daniel Hamblin, Francis Anderson.
Leg: with Ex. approval, land where I now live to be sold & proceeds used to purchase another piece; if any money remaining, to be equally divided amoung "all my children" when son William arrives at full age; son William, Negro girl Marcia; dau. Elizabeth, Negro woman Lucy; dau. Mary, Negro woman Sall; dau. Susanna, Negro woman Phillis; dau. lately born and yet unbaptized (intended to be named Martha), Negro girl Beck; wife Obedience, Negro man Bob, Negro girl Nell for life, then Bob to go to William, and Nell & increase to be valued & divided between children; stock & hh. goods to be kept together for use of wife & children.
