Henry (d. aged 66) was son of late Richard Cowan, JP of Midlothian and St. Kilda, Sidmouth, he had a charming personality, marr a dau of Sir J. Laing of Thornhill, Sunderland, and leaves a widow and 3 daughters (N. Devon Journal, findmypast). Henry marr (1st qtr 1894 Northumberland) Mabel Talbot LAING (1860 Co. Durham-1928 Honiton, Devon) (mundia). Mabel Talbot, widow of Col. H.V. Cowan, and dau of Sir James Laing of Sunderland, d. 2mar1928 at Sidmouth (the Times).
