"Essex petit jury 25 Mar 1639."
"His inventory included 'books' valued at 5s."
"As the result of a 14 December 1635 order allotting land to Boston's 'then inhabitants,' 'Henry Burchall' was granted fifteen acres.'
"On 10 December 1649, Henry Cooke of Salem, butcher, mortgaged his house, shop and one acre of land to Henry Birdsall."
"The will of Henry Birdsall was proved 28 November 1651, but has not survived."
"The inventory of the estate of Henry Birdsall, taken 17 November 1651, totalled £47 19s. 10d., of which £14 10s. was real estate" 'one dwelling house, outhouses & 1 acre & quar[ter] land,' £1 0; and '5 acres of upland in the Northfield & half acre of salt marsh in the Southfield,' £4 10s. He had '1 old sword, musket & halberd' valued at 9s. 'Tools for his trade' were valued at £2, but we are not told the nature of the trade."
"On 28 October 1643, Henry Birdsall witnessed the partially nuncupative will of John Sanders of Salem. On 20 February 1643/4, ' Henry Burdsell' was a witness in the case of Randall Houlden vs. Goody Oliver. On 3 February 1644/5, Henry 'Burtsoll' was chosen to 'keep the meeting house to sweep it & keep it clean upon all occasions of public meeting & is to have yearly, three pound s & 15s. to be paid proportionally every half year.' He was duly paid in 1647."
"Contrary to statements in secondary sources, Henry Birdsall did not reside in New Haven."
