From Colonial Families of Anne Arundel County, Maryland

Henry Barnes... was mentioned in his father's will, and may have moved to Allegheny County.

The card index to Anne Arundel Judgments at the Maryland State Archives give some indications of his activities in court. In June 1753, he was a defendant against Thomas Colvill (folio 607); in Nov 1754 he was Constable of Elk Ridge Hundred (Folio 44); in June 1755 he received instructions for taking a census (folio 164); in June 1758 he was sued by Basil Dorsey (folio 278) and in 1770 he was sued by Obed Pierpoint (folio 262).

He appears to have been the father of Henry, who may be the Henry Barnes, "Jr.," who was a witness for R. Barnes, Jr., in Aug 1772, and who was in Allegheny County in 1790 when he sold 50 acres of The Invasion (Anne Arundel County Judgment Records for Aug 1772:90; Land Records NH#8:51).
