    Mrs. Roman Schenkel, widow of Roman Schenkel, former Wabash resident, died unexpectedly at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Phoenix, Ariz. She had gone to Phoenix Jan. 5 to spend the winter with her daughter, Mrs. W. C. Richardson, Jr.
    The Schenkels were Wabash residents seven years, returning to Huntington, where she spent most of her life, in 1965.
    The body is being returned to the Bailey Mortuary, Huntington, where the service day and time are pending. Services will be held in the Bailey Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Ernest C. Klein officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's United Church of Christ Cemetery.
    Surviving with the daughter in Phoenix, are three other daughters, Mrs. Donald Zirkle, Fort Wayne, Mrs. Ira McBride, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Donald Mickley, Huntington; five sons, Harold L., Donald A., and Warren H., all of Huntington, Dale E. and Arden L., Indianapolis, 31 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. One brother is deceased.
    Mrs. Schenkel was born in Dallas Township, Huntington County, March 17, 1894 to William and Katherine Ann (Zinsmeister) Gemmer. She married Roman Schenkel Feb. 26, 1914 and he died May 30, 1965.
    Mrs. Schenkel was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Huntington. She was a resident of 930 South Jefferson St., Huntington.
