Gazette, The (Cedar Rapids-Iowa City, IA) - April 13, 2007 Helen Marie Trappe Holly, 87, of 701 34th St. SE, died peacefully at her home Wednesday, April 11, 2007, following a battle with cancer. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate. Surviving, in addition to her husband, Kenneth, are two daughters, Judith Ann Burton of Hot Springs, Ark., and Nancy Jean Steinke (Tom) of Cedar Rapids; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Trappe of Prairie du Chien, Wis.; four grandchildren, Clay Burton of Brandon, Miss., Kelly Steinke of Cedar Rapids, Stacey Steinke of Skokie, Ill., and Joel Steinke of Cedar Rapids; and six great-grandchildren, Brooke, Sarah, Owen, Claudia, Vivian and Zachary. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mabel Trappe; a brother, Donald Trappe; and a grandson, Kent Burton. Helen was born March 25, 1920, in Monona, the daughter of Hilmer L.D. and Lucille Marie (Funk) Trappe. She married Kenneth Albert Holly on Jan. 31, 1942, in Cedar Rapids. Helen worked for Collins Radio from 1942 to 1943 and for the Cedar Rapids School District from 1960 to 1965. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, the Anna Abigail Church Circle at St. Paul's, and the King's Daughters. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
