Grandma Helen was a school teacher in a one-room school house in Arizona on the Indian Reservation. When she married, she stopped teaching for a time, and then, at first against Grandpa's wishes, began teaching again, this time as a substitute teacher in the Seattle School District. She taught for many years, working with the handicap kids. Every penny she earned, they put into a special account for the ability to travel the globe after Grandpa retired, which they did do. When she finally died, she died from dementia.
