Helen Elizabeth Britt Orr, 76, of Buford died Sunday at her residence following an extended illness.

Born in Emmanuel County to the late Nathaniel Britt and Sarah Barfield Britt, she was a retired sales associate with Wal-Mart and a member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church, Hartwell. She also was preceded in death by her stepson, Frank Orr.

Survivors include her husband, Russell E. Orr, Buford; sons, Jerry Strickland, Hartwell, and Bruce Orr, Cumming; daughter, Susan Elkins, Dawsonville; sister, Sarah Craft, Lilburn; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, 2007, at Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Chuck Morley will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Joseph's Hospital, Atlanta.
