Facts and Events
"Stienecker, Heinrich Adolph, b 1822 -- U.S.A. 1850" (Auswanderungen aus dem Kreis Steinfurt) "Stienecker, Heinrich Adolph, * 18.04.1822" (p. 35, Gemeinde Ladbergen) Bought the 3rd farm on the east side of S.R. 29 going south from N.K. - On July 31, 1852, Henry A. Steaunacher bought 80 acres from David W. Deshler in Van Buren Twp. He paid $320 for it. "While hauling fodder from the field, he stepped in front of the team to undo the lines. The team suddenly lunged forward, tripping him over a bundle of fodder. One horse stepped on his breast, breaking ribs which punctured his lungs. He died several days later." 1936 New Knoxville Centennial Book Henry Hermann bought his father's land upon his death in 1884. He was the highest bidder and so for $4940 it was sold to him from his mother, Lizette, who was living yet, in Sep, 1885. E. H. Meckstroth was the administrator of the estate. Chattels, etc., were appraised by August Stork, William Eversman, and William Holtkamp. Note from Arnold W. Meckstroth: A person soon learns that in the use of names there is not always a real consistency. It has been common that the "second" or even the "third" name was used as the "calling name", and then in due time this name became the "first" name in practice and records. The given names in various records for a person may not always be recorded the same way. References
