OBITUARY: Hazel Bacon Services were held today in the Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn for Mrs. Hazel Lord Bacon, 80, who died in a convalescent hospital Wednesday. Mrs. Bacon was born in Mariposa County, the daughter of pioneer ranchers, Mr. and Mrs. David Castagnetto Lord. She came to Merced and attended schools here. Later she owned and operated a cafe, known as Roduner's Canteen which closed during World War II. She operated a rooming house here for several years after the death of her husband, Ed Roduner in 1946. Later she married again and moved to Campbell where she resided until entering the hospital here a month ago. She leaves a son, Adelbert Wescott of Sunnyvale, three sisters, Mrs. Robert Dalziel of Merced, Mrs. T.E. Kendrick of Ceres and Mrs. Ray Middlevich of San Francisco; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
