Hazel appears in a marriage record in 1934 at age 19 with no previous census records or indications of parents. But there is indirect evidence.

The original marriage document lists her father as Dan Laughner, Thorn Hill, Tenn. [Grainger county]. But is this James Daniel as above?

James' wife Cora Dalton dies in 1916 and in the 1920 census Hazel Dalton appears as granddaughter at Cora's parents. Also in 1930. Bingo. (Also James' daughter Dexter marries a Dalton.)
