EMMER, HAZEL L. Haslett

A lifelong resident of the area, Mrs. Emmer was born January 14, 1907 in Shaftsburg; died March 7, 1995 at the age of 88. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Phyllis, 1 grandson, Donald; 1 granddaughter, Janice; and her husband of 64 years, clarence. Surviving are 1 daughter, Mary (Larry) Louth of Laingsburg; 4 sons, Clarence (Mary) Jr. and Donald (Velva), both of Haslett, James (Rhonda) of Greenville and Robert E. (Muriel) of Haslett; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Russell Benson of Laingsburg; 2 sisters, Ferne Whitman of Perry and Helen Schafer of Haslett; numerous nieces and nephews. The Funeral Liturgy will take place Saturday, March 11, 10 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. East Chapel, 1730 E. Grand River Ave., East Lansing, with the Rev. Michael D. Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in St. Patricks Cemetery, Haslett. Friends may call at the Chapel beginning Friday 2 p.m., where the family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Vigil Service being prayed at 7 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, 416 Frandor, Suite 104, Lansing 48912 in memory of Mrs. Emmer.
