Mrs. Hattie Klumph was thrown From a buggy Wednesday evening and WAS INSTANTLY KILLED. A.I. Trunkey, With Whom She was Riding, Seriously Hurt Trying to Stop Horse. A Sad Accident Which Occurred Three Miles East of Geneva, Near Anniversary of Husband's Death. Geneva, July 11...." She was about forty years of age and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Austin. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge and was one of the foremost members of the order here, and had held many of the chairs in that order. She was the widow of T. P. Klumph, who was killed in a street railway disaster in Saginaw a few years ago. The car which he was on ran into an open draw bridge and the car filled with people was precipitated into the bottom of the stream. Mr. Klumph was badly injured, but, seeing a woman struggling in the water, he went to her aid and succeeded in getting her ashore and then fell over in a dead faint. He lived for a few hours and died. The accident happened four years ago on the fifth of July and the remains were brough, here and buried on the ninth. Her death occurring so near to the anniversary of her husband's death is considered a rather singular coincidence. ..." |
