(William is the husband of Richard's daughter Emma).

1887: H. STONEMAN, Royal Marines, marries Miss Emily May of the Exeter Inn.
1897: Kelly's directory: Harry Stoneman, residing at Exeter Inn."

From Ian Stoyle 12/29/00:
"I shouldn't bother to get the [certificate] for their marriage: it just says that they were married at Thorverton in December 1887, Harry being a 32-year-old Corporal in the RMLI and son of Samuel S, labourer, & Emily being a 28-y-o spinster and daughter of William M, mason, and the witnesses being Louisa Western May and Tom May, whom I assume to be her sister and brother."
