Harry attended school in North Bend and moved to Council Bluffs, Iowa, in 1918. He was a boilermaker for the Union Pacific shops in Omaha, Neb., for many years. He and Jessie were in the business of raising chickens on their acreage east of Council Bluffs in the late 1920s. Harry and Jessie were members of the Valley View Baptist Church and the Eastern Star Lodge. Harry was also a Mason.
