Article from the Malden Evening News: One of Little Victims of Yesterday's Accident Passes Away.

Night ofAnxiety Passed By Inez Dunham's Parents at Bedside of Their Child.

BabyHarry Landick died yesterday afternoon at the hospital of his injuries from yesterday forenoon's railroad accident of the Saugus Branch. The child's aunt, Miss Mabel Landick , and Dr R B Thompson, the house physician of the hospital, were beside the boy's cot when he passed away. His death was caused by the awfulshock of the accident and concussion of the brain. The little fellow did nottalk after he was brought to the hospital, but once or twice showed by his eyesthat he recognized his aunt. His father and grandfather saw the child an hourbefore he died, but his mother was not well enough to go to her boy's side. The little girl, who was struck by the locomotive with her playmate yesterdayforenoon, was between life and death all last night. Dr Thompson and the girls parents sat up all night at the girls bedside. The doctor told the NEWS thisforenoon that the frontal bone of the girls skull was fractured. The child'schances of recovery are about even. Few events in this city have ever elicited more sympanthy than the accident to these children yesterday. Every father and mother in the city felt for the heart-broken parents of the two little ones. The news of the accident spread rapidly over the city, and when the EVENING NEWS was on the street the demand for the papers with a full account of the affair was very great. The NEWS printed several editions with the announcementof the Landick boys death. The Landicks are well known here and have many friends. The senior Landick is a member of the Malden Club and an expert whistplayer. His son, the father of the dead boy, is a well known athlete, having acquired distinction as a baseball pitcher. Mr Dunham, father of the little girl, is a genial drug clerk at W F Weld's. He came here from Boston some monthsago and has already made many friends. As the NEWS goes to press, word comesfrom the hospital that little Inez Dunham seems a little improved, but is still in a semi-conscious state.
