Transferred to Company A, 322 Machine Gun Battalion and shipped out with that Battalion to France, September 8, 1918. He was transferred in France to Company A, 105th Machine Gun Battalion, 27th Division. He returned from France, March 6, 1919, aboard the USS Leviathan and discharged from the service, April 5, 1919.
