William H. Fishel, a prosperous farmer of Penn Township, took a dose of Carbolic acid last night with suicidal intent and died this morning. The cause which led the man to commit the act is of a peculiar nature. Fishel was always of a jovial disposition. He was well suppliedd with this world's goods and was apparently happy with his wife and four children. He was not not feeling well yesterday and he went to Jeannette to consult a physician. The physician told him that he was affected with heart disease and unthinkingly remarked that his lease on life was uncertain.
The remark, the physician noticed, worried Fishel greatly. He left the doctor's office and going to a drug store purchased the poison. He then went home. His family observed that he was greatly disheartened. This morning he was found dead and the vial that had contained the poison was under his pillow. He was 47 years of age.
