    "Harrison Weand, aged 56 years, 10 months and 3 days died of paralysis his residence 221 Jefferson St. after a short illness. He had a stroke of apoplexy two years ago, from which he recovered, but on Friday last he was stricken on the pavement in front of his home. He never regained consciousness. Mr. Weand was born in Montgomery Co and came to this city 34 years ago. He is a veteran of the Civil War having served in Co. B 93 PA Vols. And later enlisted in the US Navy, where he served 18 months on the gun boat Lancaster, but was discharged before his enlistment expired, owing to an injury he received to his left eye. He was an active member of the Union Veteran Legion, and was employed at the National Bolt and Nut works (for a number of years, until four months ago, when he quit do to failing health. His wife Jane (Hubert) survives besides these children: Samuel I Weand at home; Sallie wife of Harry Wolf, and Annie, wife of George W Graves, all of this city, besides two sisters, Emma, wife of Henry Bernhard, of Norristown, and Mrs Sophia Houck, of Montgomery county."
