Belle Sweet said the Holmes children were taken from their mother and sent to Coldwater. He is not with the family in 1900 and is in Coldwater. In 1910, he is the adopted son in Champlen Bradly home in Sanilac County Michigan, and in 1920 he is their foster son. He is not with the family in 1930. His death record is with the last name Bradley.

WWI draft card, dated June 5, 1918, states: "This registrant is a Coldwater boy and appears to be slightly mentally depressed." He signed the card with a mark.
