Harold L. "Jack" Hasselbach June 16, 1920 -- Nov. 4, 2005 Harold L. "Jack" Hasselbach, 85, of Cleveland Avenue, Fremont, died Friday in the emergency room at Memorial Hospital. He was born in Fremont, the son of Harley H. and Mable M. (Baker) Hasselbach. He married Dorothy A. Eckert on Oct. 6, 1945, in Toledo, and she preceded him on Nov. 26, 1997. He married Ruby E. Hopkins on March 11, 2000, and she survives.
Harold served with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1940 to 1945 and was honorably discharged. He was the owner and operator of Hasselbach Air Comfort, which he started in 1950, retiring in 1988 after 38 years. He was a member of Fremont Baptist Temple and a member of the Fremont VFW and American Legion. He was a graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Harold is survived by son, Steven C. Hasselbach and daughter, Lisa K. Hasselbach, both of Fremont; brother, Edward A. Hasselbach, Wheat Ridge, Colo.; aunt, Katherine Pearson, Erlin; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents; first wife, Dorothy; son, Curtis J. Hasselbach; sister, Elnora Chestnutwood; and brother, Charles L. Hasselbach.
