On April 24, 1752 Hans Jacob Morf was given a land grant o f 500 acres above Saxe-Gotha township on the south side o f the Broad River. England's King George II controlled th e Carolinas. Each husband and wife were granted 100 acres a nd an additional 50 acres was granted for each child. thi s couple with eight children were qualified for a grant o f 50 acres.

Hans Jacob Morf signed his will on October 16, 1762 and i t was proven on November 12, 1762. Johannes, his oldest so n was executor of the estate. His will mentions wife Elizab eth and children John, Barbara, Margaret, Jacob and Anna.
