The Lutheran Church Registry at Dottingen, in Wurtemberg, Germany, shows that "Hans Michael Krumrein" was born in Yungholzhausen, between the rivers Rhine and the Necker, not far from Stuttgart, in Wurtemberg, on June 13, 1713, and "communicated" for the "first" time in 1726. His name does not again appear upon the registry, as it doubtless would have done had he died or remained in the jurisdiction. The same registry shows the name of "George Leonhardt Krumrein" as born at the same place on September 7, 1719, and afterward as a communicant for the "last" time in 1746, after which his name is no more to be found, as it doubtless would have been had he died or remained in the Fatherland. Hans Michael Krumrein, after living in the neighborhood of Philadelphia until after 1741, passed westward into Northampton county, and finally into Centre county, where some of his descendants still live near Bellefonte, the county seat, others having passed on into Ohio.

Hans Michael Krumrein arrived at Philadelphia September 11,1732, on the ship "Pennsylvania Merchant." He was apparently the only one of his family to come over at that time. (Ship Lists 20 A,B,C Strassburger-Hincke)
May 5, 1737 he bought 110 acres of land in New Hanover Township, Philadelphia County (now Montgomery County, close to the Berks county line) from Martin Zentler and his wife, for which he paid L110. (Phila. Co. Deed Book G1, p.195)
He took the sacrament April 9, l741, and was naturalized at Philadelphia April 10 or 11, 1741. He was then a resident of Philadelphia County. (Penna. Arch. II, vol. 2, p. 352)
Records of the New Hanover Lutheran Church are printed in Vol. 20, Proceedings and Addresses of the Pennsylvania German Society. The will of Hans Michael Krumrein was admitted to probate in Philadelphia County as no. 68 of 1749 and is given in Will Book I (letter), p. 111. From these sources we learn that Hans Michael Krumrein married about 1737, or before, Eva Barbara_____. She died April 23, 1775, at New Hanover, aged 65. Hans Michael made his will 15 Jan. 1749, being very sick at the time, and died Jan. 18, aged only 36 years.
July 21, 1745, Michael Krumrein and Catherine Schweinhard were sponsors at New Hanover at the baptism of John Michael Durr, son of Jacob and Anna Margaretha. It is possible that Eva Barbara Krumrein was a Schweinhard (Swinhart) as Michael Schweinhard came over with his young family on the same ship as Michael Krumrein, and was one of the executors of his will. There was an Eva Barbara Schweinhart who in 1751 married Ludwig Pickel at New Hanover.
