Although a baptism has been found for Hannah Maria Booth, a link to a reasonable match in the 1871 census proved impossible. There is a possibility that her father had died and her mother had married again, but the census entry for that family gives the wife as Esther, not Elizabeth, and her younger brother Sam was not there.
Facts on the end of her life also proved elusive. The problem here was that there were too many Hannah Cloughs (and more than one Hannah Maria Clough!) amongst both burials and death registrations.
