Hul l, 17, NY; David Hull, 5 , NY. Hamilton Baker married Matilda Whipple in Adams County Wisc onsin in 1870. Matilda had a little girl with her firsthusb and, George Tennant. After George died Matilda married Hami lton when Mary Ella Tenant was about 5. Hamilton andMatilda `s children, Emmaline, Allen and Eveline, were born in Wisc onsin before they moved to Missouri. Then Rueben,Lynn, Lout isha, Otis and James were born in Missouri. About five year s after Hamilton`s father died, while still in Wisconsin,Ha milton and Matilda bought land sight unseen in Lawrence Cou nty, Missouri, and in 1881 along with MatildaÕs parents,Eas tus and Lucretia Whaples, migrated from Wisconsin to Misso uri. By 1900 Hamilton had a livery stable located near ther ailroad and stock yards in Purdy, Barry County, and lived o n a farm where they raised a breed of cattle they brought w iththem from Wisconsin. They later moved to Stone County wh ere Hamilton and his sons had a timber business makingrailr oad ties with crosscut saws, and farmed.
