The Regula Family has a story about Gustav Regula's migration to America in 1847. They probably arrived in New York City, since they took the Erie Canal, then traveled by the Ohio Canal, and finally by train, and arrived in Canal Dover (now known as Dover). The story goes that Gustav's younger brother, Adam, who had migrated in 1834, just happened to be in the town. The family accompanied Adam back to Bucks Township, and settled near Baltic, Ohio. Gustav was a shoemaker.
