About Guillermo "Lilo" Perez

Guillermo "Lilo" Pérez Melecio was born 17 March 1953 in La Huerta, Mocorito, Sinaloa, Mexico, the son of Isidro Pérez Payán (1924-2005) and his wife Agapita Melecio Payán. Known as "Lilo" by friends and family members, was gentle but hard-working, helping work in the fields in the family's ranch, and looking after his mother with his brother Fernando in her later years before she passed away in 2014. He liked to do his thinking alone, but he would always be there for his family when needed. He had a good sense of humor and liked to joke around and laugh. Lilo was married to "Pancha", and they had one daughter together Roseangela, who lived in Esquinapa, Sinaloa, Mexico, which was some distance from the Pérez ranch in Mocorito. He visited Pancha and Roseangela as often as he could, and occasionally they would also come to the Pérez ranch to visit him. Lilo took ill suddently on 7 July 2015, suffering three strokes with clogged arteries and fluid in his lungs. After initially getting better, he took a turn for the worse and passed away on 9 July 2015.
