Mr. Gordon L. “Jeeter” Coker, 82, of Dalton, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2004. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served in World War II, was retired from the Dalton Fire Department after 30 years and Coker Professional Carpet Cleaning after 40 years, and was a member of Dalton Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bennett Coker of Dalton; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Mary Coker of Warrensburg, Mo., and Bert and Joy Coker of Dalton; daughter, Robbie Sane of Dalton; sisters, Maggie Parker and Forrest Masters, both of Dalton; brother and sister-in-law, Hubert and Betty Coker of Dalton; grandchildren, Heath and Candie Sane, Kevin Coker, Brittany Coker and Adam Coker; nieces and nephews. Services are Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dalton Church of God with the Rev. Gary Tomberlin and the Rev. Leon Phillips officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery with the firemen of the Dalton Fire Department serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 6 to 9 p.m. Love Funeral Home, 1402 N. Thornton Ave., Dalton is in charge of arrangements.
