ina Marie Lauchner A memorial visitation and service for Gina Marie Lauchner (nee Fontechia-Drewes) and her husband J.B. James Barrett Lauchner will be from 3 until the 8 p.m. time of service Saturday, at Kolssak Funeral Home, 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (two blocks south of Dundee Road), Wheeling. They were killed when their small plane crashed into a mountain ridge in a state park 50 miles east of the San Diego Airport. Their single engine plane was en route from San Diego to Scottsdale on Monday, Oct.17. They had just attended the 50th anniversary of the Miramar Air Show at the United States Marine Corps air station in San Diego. Gina is survived by her parents, Patricia and Sam Drewes and Joseph Fontechia; her sisters, Lisa Fontechia of Phoenix, Michelle (Aaron) Ralston of St. Louis and Teresa Drewes of Wheeling; and her grandparents, Joseph and Mary Fontechia. She is also survived by her parents-in-law, Lou and her husband, Willy Rubottom of Prescott, Ariz. and Bill Lauchner and his wife, Nancy of Chino Valley; J.B.'s son, Jason (Heather); J.B.'s daughter, Lea Johann; her brothers-in-law, Dennis (Lisa) Lauchner and Greg (Michele) Lauchner of Scottsdale. Gina was pure light and pure joy. She was spontaneous and frenetic. Being with her was exciting and fun-filled. She loved children and interacted with them at concerts, plays and museums. She readily contributed to all their fundraising projects. She displayed much love for others with her own homemade greeting cards. Gina did not esteem herself. In her encounters with others, she made them feel important. She was intelligent, selfless and wise. Her counsel came only when asked for and after she carefully listened. Gina received her education in District 21 and graduated from Wheeling High School in 1985. She received a B.A. in psychology from Northeastern University in Chicago. She married J.B. in May 1994.
