In Albion, Wis., Dec. 17th, 1868, of congestion, G. F. Lawton, aged 51 years. The deceased was born in Verona, Oneida Co., N. Y., Sept. 9th, 1817, where he resided, until he removed to this State in 1846, twenty-two years ago, and settled upon a farm in this town, upon which he lived until his death. Although Brother Lawton experienced religion when about fifteen years of age, he delayed a public profession until seventeen years ago, when he united with the Seventh-day Baptist church in Albion, of which he continued an exemplary and useful member till his death. He leaves a wife, four children, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn the loss of a faithful husband, an affectionate father, and a true friend; but not without hope, that their irreparable loss is his eternal gain.
