Gilbert A. Kirkpatrick Dead.
Died, Saturday, Jan. 14, at Blessing hospital, of Bright's disease, Mr. Gilbert A. Kirkpatrick, in his thirty-fifth year. The deceased was born at Lima, in this county, where he has many relatives and friends. He was a prominent member of the Knights of Pythias, and of the Odd Fellows, and for several years traveled in the interests of the Helmet and Shield, a well-known organ of the former order. Mr. Kirkpatrick was a man of more than ordinary powers of mind and body, and made many warm friends wherever he went. He was married in 1884 to Miss Ida Forrester, who died in 1886, shortly after the birth of two little sons of whom only one survived. His remains were taken to Basco, where his wife is buried, and where the funeral will take place today. He will long be tenderly remembered by those who knew him, and their heartfelt sympathy will go out to this aged father and sisters in their deep affiliation.

The body of Gilbert Kirkpatrick, who died at Blessing hospital Saturday night was taken to Basco, Hancock county, yesterday morning, and was buried there by the side of his wife. He suffered from Bright's disease and came here from Carthage for treatment. Twice before dissolution took place he had passed into a trance and had been pronounced dead, but after apparent total suspension for several hours the heart renewed its pulations and he had come back to life. Every effort was made to resotre him to health, but the dread disease could not be shaken off and he finally succumbed to it. Deceased was 35 years old and was well known throughout the county. He was born and raised near Lima and was a nephew of Representative Mitchel Dazey. His wife died several years ago; a son of 6 years survives him. He was a prominent Odd Fellow and Knight of Pythias, and was for some time the solicitor of Sword and Shield, the official organ of the order of the triangle. Delegations from Gem City lodge of Odd Fellows and Red Cross lodge of Knights of Pythias accompanied the remains to Basco.
