It is unclear if Giblert and Egidus are the same man.

According to Lodge, Peerage of Ireland, vo. 3, p. 259 (revised edition of 1789): Sir Gilbert Jocelyne was son of Egidius Josselin, a nobleman of Brittany, who crossed into England in the reign of Edward the Confessor, about 1045. The son, Sir Gilbert, born apparently in England, went into Normandy and returned to England with the Conqueror.
