Gilbert W. Anthony, 83, of Station Street, Lehighton, died Friday, Dec. 9, in his home. He was the husband of the late Gloria M. (Graver) Anthony, who died June 16, 2012.
He had worked as a foreman for the Bethlehem Water Authority for many years before retiring. After retiring from the authority, he worked for Seltzer's Landscaping for 10 years and then retired.
Born in Kunkletown, he was a son of the late Raymond H. and Evelyn (Green) Anthony.
He was a member of St. Paul's Union Church, Big Creek.
Gilbert loved to hunt, fish and camp. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving are two sons, Gilbert and Gary, both of Lehighton; four daughters, Donna, wife of Ronald Strohl, Connie Moulthrop and Lisa, wife of Tim Seltzer, all of Lehighton, and Brenda, wife of David Berger of Palmerton; three brothers, Richard, and his wife, Annett, and Blaine, and his wife, Karen, both of Palmerton, and Floyd, and his wife, Rose, of Kunkletown; four sisters, Marie Borger, Linda, wife of Dale Greenzweig, and Carol Serfass, all of Kunkletown, and Jean, wife of Ronald Green of Perkasie; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, a great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by a brother Raymond; and a grandson, Daniel Moulthrop.
Service: All services are private. Arrangements by Mayes-Melber Funeral Home, 200 Franklin St., Weissport. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his name may be made to St. Paul's Union Church, Big Creek, c/o Erwin Schnell, 719 Franklin Ave., Palmerton, PA 18071.
