After his father, George, passed away, Gideon resided with his mother, Katherine, and step-father, John Collins, at Boston. Along with his older half-brother, John, and several other individuals, Gideon has been noted as being one of the original founders of the town of Swansea in what is now Bristol County, Massachusetts. Gideon later administered his step-father’s estate in 1670. (Descendants of George Allen)
