Obituary for Gertrude M. Porter Helsel

Mrs. Gertrude M. Helsel, 59, died early Friday at her home in Milton township, following a three-month illness. Born in Milton township, July 29, 1898, she was a daughter of Vincent and Annie Porter, and was a life resident of the area. She was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are her husband, Raymond Helsel, whom she married Nov. 23, 1914; four daughters, Mrs. Wilbur Fenton of Newton Falls, Mrs. Ivor W. Cowell of Lake Milton, Mrs. Norman V. Johns of Diamond and Mrs. Raymond Linden of Youngstown; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Porter; three sisters, Mrs. Ray Allman of Lake Milton and Mrs. Theodore Shade and Mrs. Rose Spell, both of Diamond; a brother Joseph Porter of Diamond, and seven grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls, and burial made in the Eckis cemetery.
